Baldur's Gate 3 Sets Record at Golden Joystick Awards 2023

The Golden Joystick Awards 2023 gala brought no surprises. Baldur's Gate 3 was voted the best game of 2023, overall winning a record number of awards in the history of the event. Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Libery was also honored.

Held today, the 41st Golden Joystick Awards gala is over. This year's edition of this event - the first since 2019, which was held not only online, but also in front of the public - has left no illusions about which game is the biggest hit of 2023.

Golden Joystick Awards 2023 - best game of the year

There were no surprises in the community vote and probably could not be. The best game of A.D. 2023 turned out to be Baldur's Gate III. What's more, the work of Larian Studios won a total of seven statuettes - including the one received by actor Neil Newbon for his role as Astarion - a record in the history of the ceremony. For comparison: last year Elden Ring won "only" four awards.

In this most important category, the third "Baldur" beat the following games:

Below you will find the list of winners in the remaining categories. It is worth noting that two of the awards went to Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. The work of CD Projekt Red expectedly turned out to be this year's best expansion. The second statuette was won for best trailer.
